What is the difference between SureFeedback Cloud and SureFeedback Self Hosted?

SureFeedback Cloud is our fully hosted platform. You connect your site and start collecting visual feedback immediately without installing or maintaining anything. It works across WordPress, Shopify, and custom websites using a lightweight JavaScript widget.

SureFeedback Self Hosted is the WordPress plugin version. It runs inside your own WordPress installation, and all projects and feedback are managed from your WordPress dashboard.

Cloud is ideal if you want zero maintenance, predictable performance, and multi-platform support.

Self Hosted is ideal if you prefer to keep everything inside WordPress and manage it yourself.

Do I need technical resources to run the self hosted version?

In most cases, yes.
Because Self Hosted runs on WordPress, you or your team will handle plugin installation, WordPress updates, backups, security, and hosting performance.
If you want the simplest setup with the least maintenance, SureFeedback Cloud is usually the easier option.

How does licensing work for Self Hosted?

Self Hosted plans are based on the number of dashboard sites you can run.

A dashboard site is a WordPress installation where SureFeedback is installed and where you manage all projects and feedback. From one dashboard site, you can connect and manage multiple client sites and projects.

If your staging site is a separate WordPress installation, it is usually treated as another dashboard site. If it shares the same installation, it is typically not

Will the self hosted version slow down my website?

In most cases, no.

SureFeedback is built to be lightweight and only runs when someone is leaving feedback, so it should not affect normal browsing performance.

Overall speed will still depend on your hosting quality, theme, and active plugins. If you want the most consistent performance without managing servers or tuning WordPress, SureFeedback Cloud is often the simpler choice because it runs on our fully managed platform.

When we release a new version, it appears in your WordPress dashboard under Plugins or Dashboard → Updates. You decide when to install it, either immediately or after testing on staging.
